Prayer

n

Higher Self, Legions of Angels, and You, the source of all power, whose rays illuminate the Earth, illuminate also each and every cell of my body and every bodily system, remind them of their perfect state, and actuate healing. May I be healed, may all sentient beings be healed. Subconscious, please allow this healing to take place. I am ready to stop punishing myself. I am forgiven. I want to live here happily and healthily. Please, dissipitate the pain and illuminate me with healing.

I am healing

A Different Approach- Dust Uncovers

dancing.jpg

In the middle of July I started getting my stomach-aches again. I went to my homeopathic doctor and got the herbs that worked for me in the past. I got a sulfur remedy, I took my old remedy, I took fiber, I quit drinking coffee, I even quit smoking (again)… I did everything that worked before. To no avail. I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep because I was running to the bathroom several times. I couldn’t work without having to disappear to deal with a spell every so often. I got dehydrated. I got bronchitis. I got fatigued. My bones hurt, my head hurt… pretty much all I did was work, eat a little, run to the restroom, and sleep. I was NOT going to get pharmaceuticals, but the spasming pain in my gut was getting intolerable. I was getting desperate for my ill health to leave me to greener pastures. I was going on three weeks of this wretched misery.

This may all have been set off by a question I asked my companion when we were discussing esoteric subjects, wounding and healing, and tidbits of our pasts. I noted how hard I am on others, sometimes, like my dear little 11 year old house-mate and her habit of leaving lights on all over the house, no matter where she is. I noted how hard on myself I can be- how I always had been. I hit myself in the head with a hammer when I was a five year old child one time when I felt like I had misbehaved. “What did I do in a past life or something to make me treat myself this harshly?” I asked, really wanting to know.

“I know someone who can help you answer that,” he said.

Aw Gee, Where to Put My Gum?

gum receptacleAs a waitress, I see that it is quite common to dispose of chewing gum by folding it into an Equal packet. These blue little gum pillows are readily available on the table with the sugar packets next to the salt and pepper and the flower in the vase, and are quite convenient to use as a used-gum-recepticle, I know. But then so often this treasure is left behind on the table for their service industry person to pick up after they’ve gone. This is quite annoying, if you ask me. Can’t people just put it in the trash themselves when they’re done chomping on it, before they sit down for dinner, instead of leaving it on the table for me?

Tonight I ask myself what this reflects about the item, rather than the unaware person that’s somehow annoying crazy old me. (wastefulness drives me crazy!) The single-serving Equal packets are designed for a much different purpose, but they are sometimes used and discarded as mere trash. I’ve known aspartame- what Equal is, has a terrible reputation in health-conscious circles, but wow!

Wikipedia: Aspartame

Aspartame is the name for an artificial, non-carbohydrate sweetener, aspartyl-phenylalanine-1-methyl ester; i.e., the methyl ester of the dipeptide of the amino acids aspartic acid and phenylalanine.

The FDA receives more complaints related to aspartame than any other food additive. Concerns about aspartame frequently revolve around symptoms and health conditions that are allegedly caused by the sweetener. The 92 health effects reported to the FDA are: abdominal pain, anxiety attacks, arthritis, asthma, asthmatic reactions, bloating/edema, blood sugar control problems (hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia), brain cancer (Pre-approval studies in animals), breathing difficulties, burning eyes or throat, burning urination, inability to think clearly, chest pains, chronic cough, chronic fatigue, confusion, death, depression, diarrhea, dizziness, excessive thirst or hunger, fatigue, feeling ‘unreal’, flushing of face, hair loss (baldness) or thinning of hair, headaches/migraines, hearing loss, heart palpitations, hives (Urticaria), hypertension (high blood pressure), impotency and sexual problems, inability to concentrate, infection susceptibility, insomnia, irritability, itching, joint pains, laryngitis, “like thinking in a fog,” marked personality changes, memory loss, menstrual problems or changes, muscle spasms, nausea or vomiting, numbness or tingling of extremities, other allergic-like reactions, panic attacks, phobias, poor memory, rapid heartbeat, rashes, seizures and convulsions, slurring of speech, swallowing pain, tachycardia, tremors, tinnitus, vertigo, vision loss, and weight gain. Other suspicious health concerns follow…

Yeah, probably a better gum receptacle than sweetener for your coffee if you ask me. But I’m not in the FDA, so I’ll just leave it up to you to come to your own conclusions. But can you put the Equal/chewing gum creation in the trash for me? Thanks…

Weird Ailments Receding

ankleToday I had more pep in my step than I’ve had for a while now, but tonight my head still feels filled with cobwebs and sleep.

For weeks now I haven’t been 100%. I had a couple of colds, a cramp in my tummy that just kept coming back, and then, my ankles swelled up like balloons and hurt and I hobbled around like an old lady.

Why did my ankles swell? My best guess is, because it happened right when I had an epiphany in yoga about the way I was standing, is that it has to do with the changes I’ve made in the way I use my ankles, feet and legs. When I revisit this epiphany, it talks to the places right where it hurts.
